Therapists blend their anatomical prowess with fascial reorganization techniques to diminish symptoms from whiplash, neck or jaw tension, limited mobility, poor posture, and tension headaches. A thorough anatomical tutorial will examine the structural and functional causes and remedies for these areas of the body. Also included is a discussion on the “Bio-Psycho-Social” influences that either turn up or turn down the volume of pain. We then communicate how therapists can educate clients to make simple changes in their behavior and posture to feel better over time. The 5+ hours of hands-on demonstrations are inspired by comprehensive and multimodal approaches from Medical and Orthopedic Massage, Myofascial Release, Neuromuscular Therapy, PNF, Structural Integration, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Acupressure, Trigger Point Therapy, Thai Massage, and more. Finally, a section devoted to self-care and client at-home healing moves are offered so therapists can feel better in their own head, neck, and jaw and share these recommendations to extend the benefits between sessions.
Join us for a 360-degree exploration releasing all cervical compartments, including the anterior, lateral, and posterior to provide long-lasting relief from neck, jaw, and headache pain. Specific structures and conditions that are addressed in this course include releasing the lower scalenes attachment at the ribcage to release the pain and limitations of Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. Additionally, we demonstrate how to safely work around endangerment sites like mobilizing the trachea (windpipe) to free the “psoas of the neck” or longus colli muscle, which is especially pertinent in cases of whiplash.
